From the Beach to the Mountains
Alex Goddard: Flow Coach
Originally from San Diego, California, Alex now calls Breckenridge, Colorado home - where the mountains meet the pavement and the seasons decide which board to ride. As the Lead Coach at Tao Turns, Alex brings over a decade of experience teaching both skateboarding and snowboarding, sharing a lifelong passion for flow, balance, and progression.
Alex’s journey on a board began early, skateboarding at age four and snowboarding by ten. Over the years, he ran a local skate shop for five years, led a summer skateboard camp for another five, and helped countless riders find confidence, creativity, and rhythm in their riding.
As a well rounded athlete, Alex embodies the true spirit of a lifelong rider. Always chasing a new trick, a better carve, or a deeper sense of flow. His mission is simple: to help as many people as possible discover the joy of boarding, whether it’s rolling across concrete or gliding over snow.
At Tao Turns, Alex continues to inspire riders of all levels to connect with their boards, their environment, and themselves, one turn at a time.
Board sports are what keep me going
It’s not about landing a trick once and calling it a day. My passion comes from the curiosity that arises when my students or I can’t land it again the next time. Finding flow is the process of taking something that looks incredibly difficult and making it feel easy and effortless through hours of practice.
Just like every snowflake is unique, every rider brings their own style, timing, and learning curve. That’s why no single set of steps works for everyone. We all have to discover our own rhythm and trust our instincts on this lifelong journey of finding flow.
